Water Quality Management in Low Impact Development (LID); Conventional and Possible Innovative Appro

Speaker: Edwin Safari, Ph.D., P.Eng.

Low Impact Development is an integrated concept and need in urban land development, promoting not only post-development water balance, but also intends to improve the quality of infiltrating water. This is conventionally done by focusing on removal of suspended solids in surface runoff as well as nitrogen and phosphorus. However, there are other contaminants in urban runoff that would require removal through innovative approaches.

In this webinar, while we briefly introduce the concept of LIDs, we will discuss requirements and opportunities for removal of a wider range of contaminants, given the in-situ nature of LIDs.
